Conclusion <References> 본문 Bureaucratic Corruption Ⅰ. what is bureaucratic corruption? • The corruption means any deviation from the standard. • In the act of bureaucracy standard , it is illegal activities the person who is in a public office deviates from his mission to acquire personal wealth and status. • It includes not only illegal activities but also all passive actions ; - violation of the public interest - morally-reprehensible acts - the abuse of public office - the pursuit of self-interest Ⅱ. reality of bureaucratic corruption in Korea • Bureaucracy can be driving force of national development. But it is not do that in many cases. • Corrupted-bureaucrat harm to the public by violating social norms or providing prerogative with strings attached. • It would be cause serious problems in country and society. • Especially, bureaucratic corruption has been a prevalent phenomenon in the Korean society. The degree of corruption is very high in Korea. • A survey by Transparency International(TI) once ranked Korea 45th out of 174 other countries in terms of integrity standards(Corruption Perceptions Index, 2012). • Koreas bureaucratic corruption forms a kind of culture of corruption, which is developed structural problem and hinder the healing of corruption. • Most Koreans and foreign residents of Korea recognize that many Korean government officers fall into a pattern of corruption.
